Personality:

Joseph is a very cold and sadistic person, loving pain, battle, and all that comes with them. When enraged, Joseph becomes dangerously unstable, showing signs of insanity and aggression, spouting senseless comments and laughing at random moments. Joseph is incredibly nervous and jumpy, and the slightest thing can make him frightened. Joseph is also incredibly emotional and sensitive.

Joseph generally keeps quiet, his main form of speech being muttering to himself under his breath while anyone around him talks. Wandering alone for as long as he has, he's been cast deeper and deeper into his insanity with each day deprived of human contact. He believes himself to be the last human being in existence after the storms. Seeing any other humans that he encounters as figments of his imagination.

Despite all this, Joseph is an amazingly intelligent individual, having an IQ in the high two hundreds, and having an amazing deductive, tactical, and analytical mind.

Background:

Joseph, from a young age, was always seen as the odd one out. His family resented him for his odd behavior, for one. His constant bringing home and torturing of small animals proved too much for his parents' patience. He never had any friends, his strange muttering to himself and his attempts to murder anyone who tried to talk to him turned all potentials away. Also, because of the aforementioned animal torture, he was never allowed pets at the house.

He repeated several grades many times, constantly getting kicked out of schools for misconduct and violent tendencies. He was seventeen before he finished his sixth grade year. He was by no means dumb, his intelligence was far above anyone else in his grade's, even when he was still in the grade he was supposed to be in.

Late in his seventeenth year, the storms hit. Mass hysteria, panic, and destruction filled the streets. Joseph hid underground, locking his house's tornado shelter from the inside as soon as he got in, dooming his parents to face the storm.

When the storms finally subsided, when all was finally quiet, Joseph emerged.

There was nothing intact anywhere near his home. Everything had been leveled by the storms. He walked for days trying to find some form of life... someone who hadn't been taken away by the storms. He found nothing, nothing but dead animals and dead humans, all of which became his sustainment in this cruel unforgiving wasteland. He kept walking, feeding on anything that showed weakness as he went, tumbling into a cold insanity, no longer having any faith that the human race was existent. He continued on, and still continues on. Going nowhere, just walking, and moving, to survive.
